"The One Coin"

First discovered in 1987 by Dr. Krugen and her expedition team, the Coinlander is the term lovingly given by this team to the strange artifact discovered in Antarctica as the source of an abnormal electromagnetic anomaly detected by the scientists at Aegis Corporation Headquarters. As Dr. Krugen tells it, expedition guide Malcolm Cloudson, upon seeing the relic poking out of the ice sheet, jokingly said: "All this trouble for one little Coin"

Unfortunately for this team of intrepid explorers they were unaware of the dangers of touching the Coinlander. When he placed his hand upon the object, Dr. Schpeinzel fell to the ground and began to violently convulse and shout. Dr. Schpeinzel spoke of visions of a world beyond our own, calling the artifact "The One Coin."

Dr. Krugen noted that each individual who touched The One Coin had visions of a similar place: a world destroyed by an endless cycle of war, factions fighting to claim The One Coin for themselves.

Although each person's visions showed a different kind of world, there was one consistent: The One Coin was there; and the one who held The One Coin was known as: The Coinlander.

Such a coincidence could not be overlooked, and gave birth to the team's hypothesis that this artifact may have in fact come from they very world these individuals saw in their hallucinations. All individuals repeated these same words and phrases, which Aegis now believes The One Coin operates under:

1. There Will Be Only One

Only One The One Coin exists. Only one Coinlander will ever exist.

2. It can only be seized by force

The One Coin can only be had by seizing it from its current holder by force. And rest assured… Others seek to become the Coinlander for themselves.

3. As it is seized it shall grow

Each time The One Coin is seized it grows in size, value, and power.

4. Those who have hedl shall be rewarded

Perhaps there was a mistake in the translation, but our [REDACTED] insist it's spelled: hedl

5. In the end: Only one shall hodl it

Each individual who touched The One Coin became completely obsessed with holding the relic, and began showing aggression and even violence towards their other team members.
